Summer Delights
For the past couple of weeks, or at least since it has begun warming up, I have heard a little sparrow outside my front door. It is so pleasant to hear that little chirp first thing in the morning! I have seen it several times, and I thought that it was sitting in my flowers. It flys away the minute we open the front door, and once I even saw it dart inside when I went out to get the mail. (It flew right back out to my relief) Today I went out to check the mail and pick up all the socks in my front yard. As I walked back towards the house, I noticed that my wreath on the front door looked really aweful. As I got closer, however, I became delighted that at the top of my wreath, snuggled against the door is a little birds nest. The sparrow has nested right against the wreath! Blake and I checked inside, and sure enough... five little speckled eggs! Now I am putting a sign on the front door that it is out of commission because it has an active role in the development of our babies! Do you think that this will add to the value of our home!?! If I can ever get the time to add pictures to this site, I will show you all just how cute it is! Now if I can just keep Ben and Jack out of it...

Oh how fun! And nothing makes boys want to get in to more trouble than when you tell them not to do something... wish those baby birds good luck! I miss you! Seeing you and the family once every few months just in not enough! Dang gas prices! Love you to the sky!
This comment is to tell my daughter Katie how amazing she is, and to tell everyone who reads this blog that she is staring in the Sounds production of "Brigadoon" the end of June, her last performance before they move from Idaho. Please make Katie's mom happy and come see her daughter perform.
